What is Formal Business Attire?

  •   Women this means suits, such as matching trousers and a blazer.
  •   Closed-toe shoes (this does not mean sandals), shirts and well-tied or upheld hair ( away from the face), jewelry (very little) and makeup are usual.
  •   Avoid jewelry that rattles such as chandelier earrings, stacks of bangles, as they are sidetracking. In its place, try to wear stud earrings or single bracelets.
  • Try to avoid handbags that look chaotic. Select coordinated styles that present an organized appearance.
  •  Preserve manicured nails/clear polish, prevent brighter colors, neat hair etc.
  • Trousers must be fitted and free of noticeable panty lines.
  • Skirts ought to be loose enough to sit down in easily.
  • Blazers and shirts must be able to be buttoned simply.

We Never Think About Shoes

Most people don't think shoes are that important since no one will notice them but shoes also play a big role in your professional outfit. You have to have the right kinds of shoes. You CAN NOT wear flip flops or running shoes. You need to wear dress shoes that are clean. You should always have a separate pair of shoes and separate one for you regular use, since they can easily get ruined or look dirty. For winter it does get hard as there sometimes can be a lot of snow, the best thing is to keep a pair of dress shoes, which you can wear when you get to work. Don’t go for shoes with bright colors or girls with huge heels, and definitely don’t wear your clubbing heels to work they are not appropriate. Also make sure you footwear doesn’t have studs or flashy things on them.

Make-up For Work

*this video is not mine it is from youtube

I Feel this video does have that "safe" look, you can wear this to work. This look doesn't scream out or is too dramatic, it looks very neutral and soft.

What to wear to a meeting

You need to make sure you dress appropriately since you are representing your company and you don’t know what the other company is expecting from you so you should always remain on the safe side and wear something that is suitable for all work environments. Wear something that doesn’t stand out too much, as you are not going to be the center of attention or the distraction in the meeting. You need to wear something doesn’t scream out. If you are unsure of what to wear then wear something that you would wear to you first day of work.

Where do i start?

Everyday when we wake up in the morning we always ask ourselves what do we wear today? And complain about it, making it seem like the hardest job ever. You should always plain out a day ahead of what your going to wear, iron it, wash it, or whatever you need to do to make it seem fresh and clean. Pair things off with what you feel will go with what.

Its easiest when you have a clean closet/wardrobe, keep it clean and have everything in place so it makes it easier for you to find what you are looking for. Put together outfits for the entire week during the weekend so you wouldn’t have to worry about it every morning. When shopping try to shop for clothes that you can pair things with and try to pick out the right colors, use the previous posts for help. You can also sort out things you can wear to work and things you shouldn’t wear to work.

What colour?

Color plays an extremely big role in a professional appearance. You must try to keep the color at a softer and more traditional level. Try and use colors such as black, blues, grays, whites, or khaki; stay with neutrals unless you are working for a company that requires you to wear loud or bright colors but other then that you should completely stay away from such colors. You should also avoid animal prints, as they can be a risk factor in a business like environment. If you do for go colour, such as yellow, pair it up with a soft colour. Overall you should always go for neutral colors for your first time in a new workplace or environment just to be on the safe side, as you don’t want to be a distraction.
